Name derivation:
Chenopodium from the Greek chen (goose) and podion (little foot); referring to the shape of the leaves in some species; curvispicatum referring to the curved flower panicle.
Distribution:
Not recorded in Kangaroo Island, South East or North East of South Australia. 
Status:
Native.
Plant description:
Shrub to ~1m high, branches tending to droop. Leaves rounded triangular shape, opposite (or sub-opposite) and densely mealy with white vesicular hairs. Drooping inflorescence 2-5 cm long.
Fruit type:
Red succulent fruits, orange when dried.
Seed type:
Lenticular seed with black reticulate testa.

Peripheral
Seed collecting:
Collect red fruits, check that they contain black viable seeds.
Seed cleaning:
Spread fruits out to dry, then remove twigs and other plant material. 
Seed viability:
Generally high for this species.
