Name derivation:
Greek 'phibalee' a kind of myrtle and 'bullatum' knobbly, puckered
Distribution:
Grows on sandy soils in mallee scrub.
Status:
Native
Plant description:
Shrub to 2m. Leaves narrowly oblong, 6-12 x 1.5-2 mm, upper surface glabrous, lower surface silvery-scaly. Inflorescence terminal, sessile, 1-8-flowered umbel-like cluster, yellow. Flowering August - October.
Fruit type:
Cocci approximatley 3 mm high, apex rounded, scaly.
Seed type:
Seeds 2-2.5 mm long, finely corrugate, black.
