Name derivation:
Greek 'stenos' narrow, 'anthos' flower and 'leucos' white
Distribution:
In mallee communities.
Status:
Native.
Plant description:
Spreading shrub to 40 cm high. Leaves obovate to obcordate, 4–8 mm long, 3–6 mm wide, both surfaces whitish or rusty-tomentose. Flowers in sessile heads 5–10 mm across, whitish spathulate floral leaves to 10 mm long. Flowers tubular 4-6 mm long, silky. Flowering September - October.
Fruit type:
Capsule obovoid, 2.5 mm long, the free part of the floral tube falling early; fruitlets coriaceous, opening by the suture.
